Toronto Raptors Acquire Point Guard Kyle Lowry from Houston Rockets

Fewer than 24 hours after missing out on Steve Nash, Toronto Raptors president and general manager Bryan Colangelo has found his Plan B. You can make the argument that the plan is a lot more prudent and forward thinking than repatriating Nash would have been.
The Raptors have acquired point guard Kyle Lowry from the Houston Rockets, sources with the team confirm. The deal was first reported by ESPN’s Marc Stein.
In exchange, the Raptors will send the Rockets a future first-round pick and guard Gary Forbes. The pick will be in the lottery, with protections for both the Rockets and Raptors. The specifics were not immediately clear, but the Raptors will not lose the pick immediately if it is too high, and the Rockets will not get it if it is too low.
